HOUSING

The – Foster Care Program (THP Plus – FC) provides non-minor dependents in extended foster care with rental assistance to live independently in the community in a rented room or apartment. The program assists youth with grocery and transportation needs in addition to helping them with budgeting, developing a savings plan, and working on specific goals. is a twenty-eight unit apartment complex in San Jose that provides permanent supportive housing to 45 transition age youth ages 18 – 25. This includes youth who are chronically homeless, at-risk of becoming homeless, aging out of foster care, or victims of domestic violence. For more information call (408) 907-4687.

is dedicated to providing a peer support network for children and youth in foster care. They focus on connecting foster youth and providing them with a voice within the system. Their website, social media platoform, publications, and training events all focus on helping youth build a support system around them and honing their resilience and leadership skills.

Unity Care challenges the impact of drugs, gangs and other self-destructive activities through education, self-management, interpersonal skill building, and the opportunity to regularly interact with a variety of positive role models.
